I’ve just got a new handcuffs from amazon and I thought I could share a few tips on choosing metal handcuffs in online stores.
- Shop at a bigger store, small ones usually don’t have a sufficient choice, I suggest amazon as a good trusted vendor.
- Don’t buy the cheapest cuffs, they are usually as crappy as they are cheap and I bet my head you don’t want yourself or your partner to get stuck in an uncomfortable position waiting for a locksmith.
- Get an extra key. Most of handcuffs come with 2 keys, but in this case some paranoia is OK, see #2.
- Check if the handcuffs have the double locking system that blocks the mechanism from locking tighter than they are locked by you. For example Smith & Wesson Handcuffs
have it, you can see two openings on handcuff, one for the key, to unlock them and one to lock the handcuffs from further locking.
- If you plan to try the handcuffs alone choose the ones with flexible connection like S&W and save the ASP Handcuffs
for playing with your partner. It will be much harder to unlock them alone.
